   1989년에 "에클레시아"란 이름으로 창단되어 베이지역 합창음악의 발전과 음악을 통한 미주동포사회에서 문화활동을 주도해 온 SFMC 는 창단 이후 매년 정기연주회 개최와 새크라멘토, 산타로사, 몬트레이, 프레즈노와 같은 다른 도시와 뉴욕, 필라델피아, 워싱텅 D.C., 조지아와 같은 다른 주에서 순회 연주회도 가졌으며 1998년과 2003년에는 한국 순회공연을 성공적으로 개최하였다.

   2003년에는 이민 100주년을 기념하는 음악회를 SF Davies Symphony Hall 에서 가졌으며 베이지역에서 처음으로 안익태 작곡가의 "한국환상곡"을 연주하였다.

   그 외에도 9/11 참사 피해자와 이스트베이에 있는 FESCO 재단을 위한 모금 공연을 개최하여 성금을 전달하는 등 음악을 통한 미 주류사회와 한인 이민사회의 가교 역활을 충실히 담당하고 있다.

   The San Francisco Master ChoraleSFMC, established in 1989 as "Ecclesia", joined by their commitment to provide a music resource for the Korean Community in the Bay Area.

   Since its establishement, SFMC has given annual concerts around the Bay Area, and in addition, has traveled to various cities such as Sacramento, Santa Rosa, Monterey, Fresno, and as far as New York, Philadelphia, Washington D.C. and Georgia to give concerts.  In 1998, SFMC traveled to Korea and held 13 concerts in 8 different cities.  The Choir was invited back to Korea to perform in 2003.

   In January of 2003, SFMC performed at Davies Symphony Hall to help commemorate the 100th year anniversay of Korean immigration to America.  "Korea Fantasy", composed by Ahn Eak-Tak was performed for the very first time in the Bay Area that evening.

   In addition, SFMC has given benefit concerts for the families of 9/11 victims and tsunami relief and most recently, for FESCO, and family shelter based in East Bay.

   SFMC continues to participate in the preservation of Korean Culture while embracing American and International Cultures through music.
